MANILA, Philippines – To address the traffic congestion in the city, the local government of Muntinlupa City is eyeing implementing a one-way traffic scheme.
With the ongoing construction of the Skyway Extension, both lanes of the South Luzon Expressway experience heavy traffic. According to Rep. Ruffy Biazon, motorists take Muntinlupa’s main road which is putting the city “under threat of shutting down.”
Public Information Office Chief Tez Navarro told The Star that city officials will discuss traffic solutions with Skyway O&M Corporation (SOMCO).
Among the roads under consideration, Navarro said that the one-way traffic system might be enforced along Alabang-Zapote road.
The Skyway Extension project is set to be finished by December of 2020. (HGBH/LMO)
